I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Three estranged sisters struggle to sustain their late father’s failing hockey franchise in Kate Meader’s sizzling Chicago Rebels series. In this second entry, middle sister Isobel is at a crossroads in her personal and professional lives. But both are about to get a significant boost with the addition of a domineering Russian powerhouse to the Rebels….
Isobel Chase knows hockey. She played NCAA, won Olympic silver, and made it thirty-seven minutes into the new National Women’s Hockey League before an injury sidelined her dreams. Those who can’t, coach, and a position as a skating consultant to her late father’s hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels, seems like a perfect fit. Until she’s assigned her first job: the man who skated into her heart as a teen and relieved her of her pesky virginity. These days, left-winger Vadim Petrov is known as the Czar of Pleasure, a magnet for puck bunnies and the tabloids alike. But back then… let’s just say his inability to sink the puck left Isobel frustratingly scoreless.
Vadim has a first name that means “ruler,” and it doesn’t stop at his birth certificate. He dominates on the ice, the practice rink, and in the backseat of a limo. But a knee injury has produced a bad year, and bad years in the NHL don’t go unrewarded. His penance? To be traded to a troubled team where his personal coach is Isobel Chase, the woman who drove him wild years ago when they were hormonal teens. But apparently the feeling was not entirely mutual.
That Vadim might have failed to give Isobel the pleasure that was her right is intolerable, and he plans to make it up to her—one bone-melting orgasm at a time. After all, no player can perfect his game without a helluva lot of practice…

So Over You is the second book in The Chicago Rebels series. I absolutely loved it, it’s the first book I’ve read by this new-to-me author, and I already 1-clicked the first book in the series. The series features the Chase sisters, three estranged half-siblings, thrown together after their father’s death to run his NHL team. I love Sports Romance and this one is phenomenal, with just the right amount of simmering heat and tension, and a HEA ending that had me sighing quite a few times. I love dual POV and this one didn’t disappoint; the back and forth banter was funny and flirty.  So Over You features the middle sister, Isobel, and a newly traded Russian Hockey star, Vadim Petrov. Plus, there’s the interaction between the other two sisters which added a touch of comic relief to the story.

Isobel Chase had to retire from her dream of playing professional hockey after an injury sidelined her career two years ago. She’s still not over it, after being on the US Olympic team and winning a silver medal at eighteen, all she’s ever wanted to do was play hockey. And since those who can’t do, teach, or in Isobel’s case, coach, she’s hoping for a position on the Chicago Rebels NHL team. The team she and her half-sisters Harper and Violet inherited after their father’s death. In the meantime she’s working as a skating consultant on the team to get their newly traded player up to speed, after a knee injury, so they can qualify for the playoffs. Unfortunately Vadim Petrov isn’t just any player; he’s the Czar of Pleasure, as the tabloids call him. And they knew each other intimately, eight years ago, for a short period of time.

Vadim Petrov has had some major upheavals in the last eighteen months, including seeing the mother that abandoned him and finding out he has a half-sister, the death of his father, and being traded to Chicago after a knee injury. And now he has to work with Isobel Chase, who he feels used him and tossed aside, and he’s never forgotten or forgiven. After their disastrous encounter his life and dreams were altered as a consequence and he’s still unsure if she had a direct hand in it, so yeah, he’s a little resentful.

“And you are, who, exactly? The daughter of a hockey great who was not so great when it came to running a team. The woman who can no longer play yet thinks she can offer ‘tips’ to me. To me! You may have pedigree, Isobel, but there is nothing I can learn from you.”

There’s the added drama of the sisters having to work and get along together. Clifford Chase was a notorious manwhore who cheated on his wives. He left his first wife, and practically abandoned Harper, his eldest daughter, to marry Isobel’s mother. Isobel was the hockey-playing son he never had and she was his favorite daughter. They found out about Violet two years ago, she was the result of a one-night stand and now all three sisters co-own the team, as a condition to Clifford’s will.

“So let me get this straight. In prehistoric times, Petrov took your virginity and ‘forgot’ to give you an orgasm. He got chased off the property by Cliffie-boy wielding a hockey stick. Then a few years later, he shows up at your big game and sneaks into your hospital room to coma-stalk you even though he knows the maniac with the stick is probably looking to finish the ass-whuppin’. Two months ago, he’s traded in, finally makes up for the lost orgasms big time, but then shoots himself in the dick by going behind your back and ruining your chance at golden glory. Have I missed anything?”

“He’s kind of dramatic.”

“You couldn’t make this shit up. Hell, Dante’s not wrong. This family is a soap opera looking for a daytime network slot.”
