One Night is part of eight novellas in the Drawn To Him anthology. The novellas all feature hot, steamy romance with HEA endings. Just as the title suggests, One Night begins with an encounter that lasted one night. It starts with the memory of that night, years ago, and picks up years later.

Then: Saine Campbell is her cousin’s bride’s maid, something she didn’t want to do, but felt obligated to be. Drinking at the hotel bar in her gawd-awful dress, after the wedding reception, she catches the attention of a handsome stranger. Well, what she can make of him, he’s sporting a bushy beard that matches his over-grown, man-bun hair. When he notices the diamond-encrusted hummingbird pin Saine’s wearing, a gift from her grandmother, he touches it. Pulling up his shirt sleeve he shows her his recently made tattoo, also a hummingbird, on the inside of his bicep.

“Some say a hummingbird represents a spirit sent to help those in need. What is it you need right now, beautiful one?”

With a bottle of Moet in hand they make it to his hotel room and spend a passionate night without even exchanging names. Saine slips out of the room after he drifts off to sleep and knows she’ll never forget the night she spent with the stranger.

Four years later, Saine sings in a band and plays in the nightclub her brother, Will, co-owns. He and his business partner invited a new investor, Bennett Montgomery, to purchase a third of The Revelry six months ago. A man that drives Saine crazy with his bossy demands and his incredibly handsome, model-worthy good looks.  Bennett realizes that she doesn’t recognize him, but he knows who she is, Saine left an indelible stain on him that he hasn’t been able to get rid of.  He’s been waiting, not very patiently, for something to set a spark of recognition from her.

“Who knew that at one of the lowest moments of my life—my father’s suicide—that she would be the candle I needed to guide my way out of a blanket of darkness.”

The action between Saine and Bennett is off the charts hot. And Bennett’s patience (he waited six months for Saine to finally realize who he was) was well rewarded at the end.  This isn’t the only novella I read, in the anthology, and loved! They’re quick reads with just enough romance and heat to end with a happy sigh.  Enjoy!

About KL Kreig

I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
