Once a man pledges his honor to his country, that sacrifice is embedded in his soul forever. For years he’s trained to fight, kill, and do whatever necessary to protect his country and its freedom, even if it means giving his own life.
He becomes more of a machine than human—one that’s built to destroy the enemy.
When it’s time to turn in his weapons, he never forgets the skills he learned. Never forgets the smell of death or feel of a rifle in his hands. The same hands that one day cradle his baby girl and caress the skin of his beautiful wife.
If anything or anyone ever tried to steal away the family he has vowed to love and protect, may God have mercy on their soul.
When I started K.C. Lynn’s Men of Honor Series, I was blown away by over-the-top alpha Jaxson Reid. He is a fighting machine who has been taught love from a good woman, and honor from his time in the US navy, but more than that he is a tortured hero who loves his wife Julia and daughter Anabelle with everything that he is. So when someone threatens the two most important people in his life, nothing is going to stop him from getting them back.
I went to this novella completely blind, based on my love and trust in K.C. Lynn’s remarkable storytelling. I was certain I knew what was going to happen and once again the woman proved you have no idea what goes on in her mind. She blew me away with her emotional punches, which is trademarked for her. I know I’m reading K.C. Lynn if I’m at any point is clutching my kindle and crying. She delivers a story line that is just as action packed as her novels, with the same amount of heat as you except, but most of all she tells a story of how far people are willing to go to help others, save those you love and to have them stay safe. This novella was, in my humble opinion too short, simply because I was want more of Jax and the rest of the crew in this magnificent series. This is why Fighting with Honor gets nothing less than 5 stars.
