I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
My savior isn’t prince charming.
I’m not that lucky.
He’s my worst nightmare.
He’s my one-night stand from two years ago.
And he doesn’t remember me.
What happens on vacation doesn't always stay on vacation. Especially in a place like Aspen. I moved to the mountains for my dream vet job. I never expected to run into the man of my dreams. Again.
I never thought I'd see her again.
My Cinderella didn't leave me a shoe to find her.
Not that I'd need random footwear to recognize her.
Her kiss is something I'll never forget.
Work hard. Play hard. I'm paid to be a nice guy on the slopes, but what I do in my off time isn't always about making good choices. That's the fun of living in a ski town. I stay while the women come and go.
Crazy Over You is a standalone romantic comedy and the second book in the Love with Altitude series.
This is the second book in a new series, “Love with Altitude”, and if the other two books are anything like this one you are going to love them! I absolutely adore Rom-Coms, especially the ones that get it right. Crazy Over You is one of those laugh out loud and happy sigh books. It’s filled with likeable characters, a bit of sorrow and lots of comedy, and slowly builds up to hot monkey sex! There’s even a crew of misfit pets for the animal lovers. This is my first Daisy Prescott book (I’m sorry to say), but it won’t be my last, that’s for sure!
Dr. Mara Keily, is 28 and a DVM. She recently moved from Boston to Snowmass, a small town outside of Aspen, Colorado to work as the new vet at an animal rescue and sanctuary. She’s been there before, two years ago to be precise. Mara and some friends went there for a ski vacation and one night, after dancing on the bar and drinking herself silly, she had what she’s always referred to as her worst nightmare: a one-night stand with a guy she can’t recall. It must have been really bad because she couldn’t even remember anything about it. Nothing. Nada. It couldn’t be because she was so drunk, right? Mara thinks he must’ve been really bad or had a tiny member.
Now that Mara’s going to be a local she thinks going out for a ski run is a good idea. It would be, until she has a panic attack and sits down on the ski slope, paralyzed with fear. She’s rescued by Jesse Hayes, the ski patrol. As fate would have it he’s also her worst nightmare, her one night stand, and he doesn’t recognize her. It seems Aspen is real life Tinder during the ski season. Oh well, Mara will just hide and maybe ski someplace else. They won’t ever have to see each other again.
Sometimes a tragedy changes and touches us in profound ways, some for better or worse. Jesse’s had one such tragedy touch him recently and he’s just beginning to accept it. Life is good. Boring. Until someone crashes into you and kick starts you out of your boring life.
“Life isn’t about cheating death or hiding from it.
We’re here to enjoy being alive and if we’re lucky, sharing our life with someone else.”
What if something you thought was true turned out not to be? What if the worst sex in you life turned out not to be, in a matter of speaking? Mara’s truths turn out to be untrue. And that’s a good thing. Yes, a very good thing.
“Love doesn’t dwell in the past. It lives in the present—in our hearts and the memories we carry with us. Love resides in sunshine and our laughter. Everywhere we look, in every beautiful view, we feel love.”
**sigh** I wish Crazy Over You were longer. Like at least 500 pages more and many years longer. I didn’t want to say goodbye to Mara and Jesse, I might of shed a few tears. And sometimes that’s a sure sign of a good story!
