I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.

Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.

He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.

But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.

Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.

In my opinion, there is no one who can write dark and gritty like Tillie Cole. The fact is, every time I think she can’t hurt or surprise me further, she releases a new book with scary twists and turns that ends up turning me inside out.

Of course, Riot was no different. Her “Scarred Souls Series” is by far her darkest series yet. Russian and Georgian Mafias, gulags, sex slaves and torture – these are the prime topics in this series, and yet she manages to set up beautiful love stories in the darkest places.

This is the story of 152 who was kidnapped at a young age and it now used as a Mona – the personal sex slave of the mastermind behind these blood pits. She is young, beautiful, and of course damaged. But her world is turned even more upside down, when Master gives her to his prime fighter 901. He fights to gain his freedom and shuts all emotions down in order to survive. But when 152 is thrown into his cell, things change.

This is the final book in the “Scarred Souls Series” and what an ending. I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, and I didn’t want it to end. This unlikely romance that forms in this underground hellhole is exceptional. The way Ms. Cole describes the nitty gritty circumstances makes you feel like you are there. It is a place where love should never be able to grown and flourish, but it does. Furthermore, it delivers the ending this reader expected and in classic Tille Cole style, she does not stay away from the horrors expected when taking down these blood pits.

This book was everything I expected, all the while it blew every expectation I didn’t know I had. The writing is flawless and powerful, and certainly packs an emotional punch. All in all, I loved it and this is solid evidence of Tillie Cole’s place amongst Dark Romance Royalty. I give Riot 5 stars for its hauntingly beautiful story.
