I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

We all have one.
A price.
That magic number that will get us to agree to do anything, be anything.
Don’t sit on your gold-plated high horse and say you don’t because you do. Everyone does. Each of us has something we covet enough that we’d sell ourselves to have it.
What’s my tipping point, you ask? Apparently a cool quarter mil will do the trick.
What does one do for 250 large, you wonder? Anything the infamous, gorgeous playboy of Seattle wants. For the next four months I’ll be Shaw Mercer’s arm candy, his beck and call girl, his faux girlfriend. I’ll be his to command, mold, push and pull in any direction he sees fit.
I’ll fight falling into bed with him. I’ll fight falling in love with him even harder. I’ll fail at both. And when my past and present collide in the most unexpected of ways, I’ll learn that while one man’s love for me has never died, the only man’s love I really want will never be mine.
*If dirty-talking, dominant alphas are not your thing, move along. Mature, 18+ only. Book 1 in a 2-part duet.

“Lock everything else down, because if you don’t, you could easily get lost in between what is and what could never be.”

Lost in Between is my second book by KL Kreig. I read Black Swan Affair previously, and I adored it. The blurb to this one intrigued me from the get go. A possible love-triangle? An emotionally unavailable hero? Yes, yes, yes! There was guaranteed angst to be had and I couldn’t wait to dive in.

Willow has a heap of emotional pain that she keeps buried deep. She has developed a false persona that she hides behind, never letting others close. Shaw is the perpetual singleton, with no plans to settle down anytime soon.  What starts out as a mutually benefit situation, soon turns more serious than either one is ready for.

The hotness and sexual tension in this book are off the charts. Holy smokes! I thought it was going to burn up my kindle. Willow and Shaw have an undeniable chemistry right from the get go, and it only heats up with every encounter. It’s only a matter of time before these two give into their mutual attraction. These two can’t help but be drawn to one another, but the recipe for mutual destruction keeps them both second guessing their feelings.

The story drew me in right away. Willow was an enigma I couldn’t wait to discover. Why did she do what she did, being arm candy for the highest bidder? Why was she so withdrawn from the people around her? I love how Willow doesn’t give in and sticks to her guns when it comes to Shaw.  She doesn’t trust easily and knows better than to get attached. Shaw was more of the “typical” alpha hero and a bit OTT at times. His adoration for his family, and his willingness to do anything for them, was endearing, but it was Willow’s pain and heartbreak that really got to me.

Noah and Sierra, the best friends, and Shaw’s family are a nice addition to the story. There were actually some twist and turns that I didn’t see coming, all leading up to that jaw-dropping cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

About K.L. Kreig

I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
