There’s no such thing as a little in love…
Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust…
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as…
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along…
I have shouted far and wide, Jill Shalvis’ writing is utter perfection to me. She always manages to make me laugh, cringe (in a good way) on the hero’s behalf and her heroines are always ladies, I want to emulate.
When Accidentally on Purpose dropped on my kindle, I was giggly like a schoolgirl. I planned my entire weekend around this book. I have been excited to read the story of Elle and Archer since we picked up on their chemistry in the first book of this series.
Elle is the building manager in the building where Archer and his crew of badasses have their office. They have a history that Elle is trying to put behind her but because of their chemistry and this history they often come to blows. Archer is the epitome of alpha badass; Former cop who ditched the corps because he felt restrained by the rules.
This is a classic friends to lovers story, though with a twist, since neither party is willing to acknowledge their mutual attraction. But somehow, it works. It makes their path toward a happy ever after very funny and sometimes a little awkward.
However, I have to admit though I really liked it, but it didn’t have the Jill Shalvis Flair, that I have come to expect when I pick up one of her books. Don’t get me wrong, it is everything one expects from this author but somewhere along the way, I lost the connection to it. But I will admit, it could be based on the extremely high expectations I had going in. Heartbreaker Bay is my favorite series out of all her works, so I have been very anxious to read this book.
All in all, this is a 4 star read cause I really liked it and it is still Jill Shalvis who is one of my all time favorite authors.
